Joe Sneed

Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch Joel Brooks Sneed, 72, of Arlington, TN passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025. Friends are invited to a visitation with the family on Friday, February 21, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., all at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Interment will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Bro. Michael Weeks will officiate. Joe was born on February 24, 1952 in Lafayette Springs, MS to Lillian and B.J. Sneed. Joe honorably served our country in the United States Marine Corps. He earned his bachelor’s degree in emergency medicine from the University of Memphis and was retired from Memphis Fire Department as a paramedic. Joe was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Memphis, TN and the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF). Joe was known as a jokester and was a master at pulling pranks. He also had a big heart and would help anyone at any time. Joe loved working on cars and adored his old western movies. He was a confident man and could figure out just about anything. Joe loved his family most of all and his grandkids became his life, and at the end of the day he always was a momma's boy. Left to cherish Joe’s memory is his daughter, Stephanie Goeman (Fred) of Gallatin, TN; son, Dennis Brian Sneed (Marissa) of Bartlett, TN; mother, Lillian I. Sneed of Olive Branch, MS; sister, Sharon Woods (Woody) of Olive Branch; brothers, Ronnie Sneed (Judy) of New Albany, MS and Bobby Sneed of Olive Branch; brother-in-law, Jim Hood; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Ava, Mason, Evan, Ryan, Mckenna, Tyler, Zo, and Levi; a host of nieces and nephews; and military brothers, Phil Underwood (Ann) of Pryor, OK and Ricky Hamm (Cathy) of Brenham, TX. Joe was preceded in death by his father, B.J. Sneed; sister, Brenda Hood; and sister-in-law, Laura Sneed. In honor of Joe’s service to our country, the flag of the United States Marine Corps will be flown at Coleman Funeral Home the day of his service.
