Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch John Michael “Mike” Chambliss, age 42, of Germantown, TN passed away Monday, May 11, 2026. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Mike was born in Pisa, Italy on March 23, 1984. He was the kind of man who left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. In high school, he excelled both on the football field and at the bowling alley, even achieving the rare accomplishment of bowling a perfect 300 game. He later became a carpenter with Brookstone Construction, where his love for building and creating shone through in everything he did. He often joked with Ashley, “I’ll build it, you make it pretty,” a phrase that perfectly reflected both his craftsmanship and his humility. He loved to tinker, work with his hands, and spend time at the grill, especially when it came to making his favorite brisket or pork belly. More than anything, though, Mike was devoted to the people he loved. Loyal to a fault, charismatic, genuine, and authentic, he was someone who was simply hard not to love. He was known for his resiliency, integrity, and unwavering commitment to putting family first. He was not only a loving husband and devoted father, but also a best friend to his siblings and a steady source of strength for those around him. He showed Ashley the true meaning of love and never missed an opportunity to support his boys, always proudly attending any of their games and events. One of his greatest joys was watching Cameron play under the Friday Night Lights or listening to Hunter play guitar, and playing with Jonathan. Mike lived with passion, loved deeply, and gave wholeheartedly. A proud fan of Notre Dame Fighting Irish football, he carried that same spirit of loyalty and pride into every part of his life. There truly are not enough words to fully describe the kind of man he was or the impact he made on the people who loved him. Mike is preceded in death by his mother, Carol (Hillenbrand) Swanson, and grandfather, Howard “Shorty” Chambliss. Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Ashley Chambliss, whom he taught what the meaning of true love is; sons, Hunter Hollingsworth (Kaitlyn), Cameron Chambliss, and Jonathan Chambliss; grandson, on the way, Harvey Hollingsworth; father, Danny Chambliss (Lisa); sister, Cecilia Chambliss; brother, Matthew Lambert; grandmother, Renae Chambliss; bonus dad, Brian Swanson; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends he considered family.
