Sandy Byrum

Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch Sandra “Sandy” Marshall Byrum, 80, passed away on July 18, 2026. She was born on October 7, 1945 to the late Charles Lester Marshall and Mary Jane Marshall. Sandy was a longtime resident of Olive Branch, Mississippi, and treasured the many friendships she formed there over the years. She retired from the Internal Revenue Service after 30 years of dedicated service. A faithful member of First Baptist Church of Olive Branch, Sandy especially enjoyed the fellowship of her Sunday School class. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she loved attending Bible studies and helping others. She will be remembered for her kind and generous heart, her strong faith, and her unmistakable Southern charm. Always stylish and gracious, she brought warmth wherever she went. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, working crossword puzzles, and collecting watermelon-themed treasures. She was also an excellent cook who enjoyed preparing meals for the people she loved. Above all, Sandy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family deeply. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Johnny “Big John” Byrum. She is survived by her son, Shane Byrum, his wife Lisa, and two beloved grandchildren, Lindsey and Jack Byrum, who brought her great pride and joy. Her life was also blessed by 15 years of friendship and companionship with the late Miles Boyd, Jr. Sandy’s faithful spirit, loving heart, and gracious presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Friends are invited to a visitation with the family on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. All at Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch. Bro. Jerrod Brooks of First Baptist Church will officiate.
