Frances Maxine Wages

Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch Frances “Maw” Maxine Wages, 80, of Byhalia, MS passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025. Friends are invited to a visitation with the family on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with the service to follow at 12:00 p.m., all at Coleman Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Old Union Cemetery in Shannon, MS. Bro. Paul Marshall and Destin Wages will officiate. Maw was born on December 29, 1944 in Memphis, TN to Helen and Allen Pool. She graduated from Whitehaven High School, Class of '62. Maw loved to travel, go on vacation, and cook for her family. She especially loved eating Mexican food and working outside in her garden. Maw spent her life loving on and taking care of her grandchildren. She was always taking care of someone else and was a giving, kindhearted person with an outgoing personality. Maw never met a stranger and loved to get to know folks. Above all else, she loved the Lord more than anything in the world. Left to cherish Maw’s memory are her son, Michael Wages of Byhalia; daughters, Judy Wages Porter of Olive Branch, MS, Tina Brewer of Byhalia, Allenia Medley (Mark) of Olive Branch, Brandy Kimbrough (Paul) of Byhalia; step-daughter, Juanita Shelton of Memphis, TN; grandchildren, Richard Bowlin, Shena Hill, Chris Bowlin, Bobby Bowlin, Justin Bowlin, Kyra Martin, Stephanie Martin, Cheyenna Finley, Amanda Cook, Khristina Smith, Michael Rogers, Kimberly Jones, Brandon Crouch, Matthew Crouch, Erica Doering, Tesa Looney, Kelsee Wages, Destin Wages, Darius Aranda, Zachary Thomas, Buddy Wages, Bella Wages, Paul Kimbrough, Averiana Kimbrough, Briella Kimbrough, and Jacob Kimbrough; 53 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and, sisters, Carol Golden of Southaven, MS and Dorothy Condrey of Omaha, NE. Maw was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert “Buddy” Ellis Wages, Jr; daughter, Barbara Ann Wages; great-granddaughters, Michelle Rogers and Oakleigh Martin; great-grandson, Preston Bowlin; mother, Helen Dorothy Pool; father, Allen Manuel Pool; and, brothers, Gerald, James E., Bill, Bobby D., and Freddie Pool.
