Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch Martha Rose “Marty” Ellis Jones Dobson, 87, of Olive Branch, MS, passed away on June 20, 2025. Friends are invited to a visitation with the family on Friday, June 27, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., with the service to follow at 5:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch, MS. The interment will take place at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis, TN. Marty was born on May 17, 1938, in Hollow Rock, TN. In her early life, she and her husband Glenn established and ran a successful oil and gas business. After his tragic death in 1983, she met and married the love of her life, Bill. The two of them traveled the world while Bill worked for Texaco hosting parties for the stars. They eventually settled in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas where the two of them teamed up to be a successful real estate duo. While she attended various churches throughout her life, she was most recently a member of Balboa Baptist Church in Hot Springs Village, AR. Marty will be most remembered for her amazing cooking skills and her enormous heart. She never met a stranger and there was no one she wouldn’t help when needed. Marty was family-oriented, and her life revolved around them. She poured herself into caring for them, and her home was always a place of warmth, welcome, and togetherness. Marty was a second mother and grandmother to so many and she will be missed by them all. Marty was preceded in death by her first husband, Glenn Wesley Jones; second husband, William Eugene Dobson; daughter, Leah Ann Jones; son, Glenn Brent Jones; parents, Ruby Lorene Ellis and Melvin Ellis; and sister, Ann Poteete. She is survived by her daughter Sue (Don) Jamison, her son Pat Jones, her stepson Tim (Stephanie) Dobson, her stepdaughter Carey (Randy) Wells, eight grandchildren, Malerie Wells, Chandler Wells (Jordan), Katy Walker (Aaron), Jimmy Dobson, Alex Dobson (Brynn), Jake Jones, Greyson Jones and her precious granddaughter Rachel Madden who moved in to take care of her this past year; two great-grandchildren, Maggie Wells and Atlas Walker; several nieces and nephews including her beloved niece Debbie Farrow who was her caregiver this past year, and the three four-legged grand pups who will miss her most - Sam, Patty and Puppy.
