Patricia Gayle McKinney

Patricia Gayle McKinney (née Isom), age 78, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, in Ingrams Mill, Mississippi. Born on January 6, 1947, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Patricia lived a life marked by devotion to her family and service to her community. In her early years, Patricia dedicated herself to raising her three sons as a homemaker. Her nurturing spirit and steadfast commitment to her family laid the foundation for a life centered around love and care. As her children grew older, she extended that same compassion beyond her home by serving as a school bus driver for special needs students in Shelby County. Later, she continued this meaningful work with Desoto County Schools. Her role in safely transporting children each day was more than a job—it was an extension of the care she so naturally gave. After retiring from her career in school transportation, Patricia embraced a quieter life alongside her beloved husband, James “Jimmy” McKinney Sr., cherishing their time together and the simple joys of daily life. Patricia’s legacy lives on through her loving family. She is survived by her husband Jimmy; sons Craig Mynatt (wife Kay), Greg Mynatt (wife Shelia), and Mark Mynatt (wife Cindy); stepsons James McKinney Jr. and Jeremy McKinney (wife Holly); and stepdaughter Ashley Ford (husband Raymond). She was a proud grandmother to Kristin, Will, Luke, Tristan, Jacob, Natalie, Micah, Cole, Grant, Jorja, and Madyson; and a great-grandmother to Gracie, Dalton, Tyler, Zoe, Norah, Grant and Wylder. She was preceded in death by her father Tom Hoyle Isom; Mother Pauline Petitt Isom; sister Linda Dunaway; and brother John Isom Sr. Those who knew Patricia remember her as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her warmth touched many lives across generations. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her. A visitation will be held on June 25, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Coleman Funeral in Olive Branch, MS.
