Jenifer Loftin Smith

Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch Jenifer Loftin Smith, 49, of Olive Branch, MS, passed away peacefully at home on the morning of January 3, 2025. The family will welcome friends at a visitation on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Olive Branch. The service will be held on January 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., also at First Baptist Church. Bro. Jerrod Brooks will officiate. Jenifer was born on March 26, 1975, in Memphis, TN. She was a graduate of Olive Branch High School, Class of 1993. After high school, she pursued an associate’s degree in physical therapy from Arkansas State University and went on to complete a bachelor’s degree in business from Creighton University. Jenifer had a deep love for both softball and cheerleading, passions she carried with her throughout her life. She not only played softball but also dedicated herself to coaching the sport. Additionally, she founded the Northwest Mississippi Rangers cheer gym in Senatobia, where she shared her enthusiasm and expertise with others. She was also a member of Compel Church in Southaven, MS. Jenifer enjoyed spending her free time exercising, and she especially enjoyed walking, running, and competing in various races. She was a foodie who had a soft spot for sweets. She cared immensely for her two children, Jay and Jeweleigh. Anyone who knew Jenifer could see her strength. She was caring, compassionate and never met a stranger. Most of all, Jenifer was a warrior and battled cancer for 14 years, though she never let it slow her down. She loved her family above all else and did whatever it took to be present for them while still taking care of herself. Jenifer is survived by her husband, Mark Smith of Olive Branch; son, Jay Potts of Jackson, MS; daughter, Jeweleigh Potts of Olive Branch, MS; and mother, Brenda Crews Loftin of Olive Branch. She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Loftin; and her brother, Greg Loftin.
